July 2, 2008. Jason Bateman would have done any old crap as long as it payed!
Makes ambiguous movie statement!
In a statement that hasn't shocked anyone Bateman has admitted in an interview with Parade that "I would've done a show half as good [as Arrested Development]" but that "...they [Fox, Hurwitz whoever] were paying, and I was happy to have a job."
Having seen Teen Wolf Too, I can understand where he's coming from.
In the same interview Bateman was asked about whether their will be an AD movie, to which he responded "I think it might happen. I’ve got my fingers crossed. It’s a question of timing. When is it too early? When is it too late? I hope it happens because we all miss each other.”
This deliberately ambiguous statement has been seen as nothing more than fodder for internet rumor mongers who have nothing better to do than rewrite it, analyze it and debate it, in order to stir up more interest in the potential flick. Well, we here at arrested-development-movie.co.nr refuse to rise to the bait. Hang on. Shit. I already did. taken from.
July 1st, 2008. Tambor confirms Arrested Development isssssss ON!!!
While attending the premiere of Hellboy (yep they can easilly get that crap made!) big Jeffrey Tambor, (who we all know as patsy criminal magnate George Bluth and stoner patsy lemonaide salesman Oscar Bluth) told EW.com that it's a done deal! “After months of speculation, I think we have finally figured out for sure that we are indeed doing an Arrested Development movie," We all knew that anyway, but i suppose having every Bluth or Funke come out once per month and confirm it again reassures fans. Tambor went on to say "I am very excited about that(the movie). I love that cast and crew and I felt like we had more to say." Yep, i think every fan can relate to that. Taken from.
Bateman and Cross drop in on Olberr Oldermann that guy who likes AD
Jun 26 2008 - Bateman says the movie will be
'twisted', fans say 'Thank GOB!'
"It's typically bent and twisted," Bateman told a bunch of guys as he wandered aimlessly around LA. On Hurwitz' premise for the feature flick he said "He's got a really, really good idea for the movie version that would not be just simply the equivalent of four episodes back to back to back. It's actually something that would be specific to the medium of film." (editor comment - i wouldn't have minded actually)
On why the film seems to be taking more time than what it takes Lindsay to clean the house he said. "It's a long, sort of drawn-out, complicated business process. 'Arrested Development' is such a specific tone, it doesn't lend itself to mass appeal, as played out by the fact that it's canceled. So it has to be done for a price. They can't spend the money they spent on 'Hancock. So they have to shoot it for a small price, and we have to figure out if we can do it for that price. They're working it out, and hopefully we'll be able to know something in the next month." Taken from.
But, maybe it shouldn't really be a problem, maybe it would lend itself to mass appeal, lets let David Cross explain...language alert - a bit blue (man group)

March 4 2008 - Bateman confirms movie!
The star of Juno and Hancock (kind of)has said that development on the movie is going ahead. "Well, the ball has started rolling down the hill again," confirmed Bateman. "So hopefully, all the adults can get the business stuff together - because all the creatives are on board." When asked what the movie was going to be about he said - "I learned a long time ago not to try to guess what Mitch Hurwitz will come up with. But it’ll be good, whatever it is,". Taken From.
It seems it is all systems go!

April 28 2008 - Alia Shawkat says what we all hoped- "I think it's gonna happen. They're writing the script right now, supposedly. But, you know, Mitch talked to all the actors and they are all in; Everyone wants to be a part of it." In the same interview she also mentioned something slightly to close to life imitating art in reguards to her TV dad Tobias, played by David Cross "I had the biggest crush on him when we were doing the show," Hmmm? a movie plot line spoiled perhaps? Will Arnett has a sedate plan on how to get the ball rolling on a feature film

Mitch Hurwitz - "if there's a way to continue this in a form that's not weekly episodic series television, I'd be up for it."Taken From.
A movie could happen, but only if they can afford White Hot, and he's prepared to take it in the back end.
So what do you think the movie will be about - what themes? will we have any of the guests and which ones? Will Michael end up married, Will Lucille be in Jail? Will Tobias be dead from GVH? Check out our forum, and stick in whatever idea you like!
